About Maine wedding ideas

Real wedding, fort williams park wedding, outdoor wedding, wedding updo

Thanks so much for stopping by to learn a bit about me and about Maine wedding ideas.

I am excited to share with you the background of how this site came to be!

First, about me...

I am 41 years old and in the process of planning my second wedding here in Maine.

Update: As of July 30, 2011 I married the man of my dreams!

I met my husband on eHarmony.com in the spring of 2009. We knew quite early on that things were moving along in the direction towards marriage. Things just seem to work out for us. This is a second marriage for both of us.

We each have children from our first marriage and happy that all three girls have now decided they would like to be part of our wedding. We chose to have a little over a year engagement so that our children would be comfortable with everything.

We both were born and raised here in Maine and still enjoy the beauty of the state year round. Though...the winters are definitely wearing on both of us!

I was very young when I married the first time; I was 21. We didn’t have a lot of money and we did quite a bit ourselves. I made my own veil, my floral arrangements were made from silk flowers and we had our reception at my then husband’s parent’s house. We bought all the food and had people help us prepare it.

So, I know what it is like to plan a wedding on a budget!

About Maine wedding ideas...

I love to help other people and lend them my thoughts and ideas. Weddings are such a wonderful celebration of a key point in a couple’s life.

With all research I have done and the connections that I have made with different vendors, why not do something with it?

So, a concept was born...share my information with you!

A lot of the content found here on my site can be used for general planning and informational purposes.

The venues and vendors mentioned will be targeted to those that provide services here in Maine.

I also wanted to bring in an element that allows you to share your experiences here as well! I like to read reviews of vendors and venues that I am researching...and I am sure you do to.

Be sure to come back and visit to provide reviews and recommendations for our local Maine wedding vendors, venues or outdoor locations!

Public service announcement:

Remember, a marriage is very serious. You should make sure that you really are ready to commit your life to the person prior to saying "I do".

Domestic abuse is running rampant in our society. Take a serious evaluation of your relationship. Bruises from physical abuse can be seen, but the emotional bruises from verbal abuse can't. There is a high chance of verbal abuse turning physical over time.

If there is any suspicion that you may be in a verbally abusive relationship, please read: The Verbally Abusive Relationship: How to Recognize It and How to RespondInterpersonal Relations Books) to help you recognize the signs.

It is easier to part ways before your are legally bound in marriage!
